Partially. Traditional RPA uses software robots to mimic a person clicking through screens. Modern automation at OxygenIT mostly uses native API integrations through Microsoft Power Automate, which is faster, more reliable and easier to maintain. We use RPA-style approaches only where a system has no API and there is no better option.

Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, Teams and Microsoft 365 connectors for most automations. We also integrate with common NZ line-of-business tools (Xero, MYOB, HubSpot, Salesforce, WorkflowMax, simPRO, Ignition and others). For specialised needs we use selected third-party integration platforms. We do not default to expensive tools when native M365 will do the job.
04. Do I need a Microsoft 365 subscription to use OxygenIT automations?
For most of our automation work, yes. Microsoft 365 is the dominant platform for NZ SMBs and it includes the licensing for Power Automate and Power Apps that most SMB automations need. For Google Workspace environments we work with alternative tooling. Ask us about your specific stack.

06. How do I know an automation is worth building?
Every candidate automation is scored on time saved, error reduction and complexity to build. If the time saved over a year does not justify the build cost, we will tell you. Not every task is worth automating. Part of our job is helping you choose the ones that pay back quickly and leave the rest alone.
07. What happens when something unusual goes through the automation?
Every automation we build has defined exception paths. When something unusual happens (unexpected data, missing field, downstream system outage), the automation alerts a nominated human, logs the case and waits for a decision. Silent failure is not acceptable. The human stays in the loop for the unusual case.
08. Who owns the automation after it is built?
You do. Every automation is documented in plain English, owned by a named person in your team and supported by OxygenIT if you choose. You can take ownership fully in-house or keep us on for changes and support. No lock-in.
